if i was you i would deposit the meander in a part of the household that would be heated most often eg. your opportunity, loungeroom etc.
Then have your heat entwine and ceramic radiator. Ceramic radiator bulbs are about 3 times extra expencive than irrodecent (not guaranteed on the spelling) illumination. But, they do continue alot longer. Get on to guaranteed u have the heating on a thermoas stat and depending on the meander... taste and protect it at the tempetature recommnded
You can hibernate him if you want....how cold do you consider cold? I protect my cornsnake at about 70 degrees including a small undertank heating pad in the chill, and I am in Wisconsin, everywhere outside temps can get on to well below zip F, but my inside temps stopover nearly 65 degrees.
Just an undertank heating pad must be sufficent- the soil will lukewarm up- take the warmth readings below his rocks or in the soil above the heating pad- probability are, it will be a ration warmer than the air.
You can also protect him away early any windows and deposit him then to an domestic roadblock. another choice is to cover half his cage including a gray blanket to aid call in heat.
Lowest safe temp?- if it is a hibernating meander, 10-20 degrees F. If it is a hot meander, most can stand 50s at night, as long as it gets up to 80 all through the day.
Depends how cold its being compensated and depending on the meander it could be honest. and no problem the ceramic radiator is extra well-organized. it puts off extra heat for less elctricity. the single reason i use a light is to be competent to trade show off my snakes. the UDH is awsome and if it isnt going to hurt to greatly you could wanna taste a larger size or 2. if it does get on to to cold it will just go quiescent and hibernate for awhile. most snakes will be ok as tems get on to about 70 or so flush mid 60's would be ok if you have to protect it that cold. they are appearance out including splendid extra products that are energy well-organized. so taste a single just any alternatives as your fiscal proclamation can handle.
You fail to bring up what type of meander you have. A ruler meander or the like can be let to brumate/hibernate for several months, just protect the temp. in the enclosed space above 38 degrees & protect bounty of original water void. But, if this is a hot meander that doesn't naturally hibernate/brumate, then you've got to be greatly extra precise. Most undertank heaters use single pennies a day value of electricity & you can augment this including an overhead incandescent bulb of 75-100 watts to provide a kind lukewarm spot.
