Um, first of all I wouldn’t allow your iguana to simply bite your finger. They do have teeth, and they can draw blood. So unless your hands are really calloused then it’s not recommended.

In simple short terms. Continue to handle it, it will eventually learn that you aren’t of any harm. Male iguanas are very territorial and when they come to maturity, they can be very aggressive. Handle, handle, handle, don’t let the iguana win with it’s bad behavior.

iguanas are grumpy. the more you handle them, the more tame they will become. YOU are the boss, not the iguana.let hin know that by doing what u want, not what he wants. it will take about a year. do the same thing every day, weather he wants to or not. if u need to move things to get him out of his cage, do it. he also responds to the weather, and the temp.my baby is about 18 months and he is still learning.get iguanas for dummies.good book.

Iguanas are wild animals, this is completely normal. As they mature they can get more aggressive. You’ll also notice a change in his behavior and attitude during breeding season or if he’s shedding too.

All you can do is keep on handling him. Only handle him in a calm, controlled environment. It’s less stressful on him if it’s quiet with no distractions. If you have to, throw a towel or pillowcase over his head to pick him up- so he can’t bite or wiggle away. Once you have a firm grip on him, just sit down and begin stroking him until he calms down. Keep on doing it on a daily basis, reward him with treats once he becomes more docile. The key is being patient, staying consistant with the handling, and making him feel as relaxed as possible.
