  • Lizard King:

Sand and wood fiber shavings can easily cause impaction (intestinal blockage). I would prefer the reptile carpet. It will be a slight bit of more work to clean up but its definitely worth it.

Dragons are curious and will also test out anything they can eat if they get hungry enough. Meaning they will eat the sand or wood fiber shavings if they are hungry or curious. Reptile carpet isn’t too hard to maintain and has no rick of impaction either. Its your best choice as a floor for your dragon.

Definitely not the sand or wood chips. But there are some better options than repticarpet, too.

You could use paper towels, non-adhesive shelf liner, unprinted newspaper, or my favorite, tiles!

Tiles are great. You only have to buy them once. They are super easy to clean and disinfect. They come in a lot of colors and styles so you can customize your look. They also help keep beardie’s nails filed down. And they present ZERO risk of impaction.
