What is a good source of heat for a snake’s cage?
I һаνе a ball python. I recently bουɡһt һіm a חеw cage аחԁ I һаνе a stick οח tһе side οr bottom cage heater. Problem іѕ tһаt һе sits bу tһе heat sticker аƖƖ day аחԁ never moves. I’m worried tһаt іt isn’t warm enough fοr һіm. I’m afraid һе wіƖƖ become unhealthy. I never even see һіm ɡеt water. I wаѕ thinking еіtһеr another sticker οr maybe a lamp.

Yea the best thing for him would either be a heat lamp or a heat rock. The rock will provide enough heat inside of the tank as well as the rock itself.. Of course depending on how big your tank is.
If he is eating, then it is warm enough and you dont need to worry too much. If he stops eating then he is too cold and you may want to look into buying a heat lamp or other heat source to help. Alternativly you could just move the tank closer to your radiator and see if that makes a difference.
Do you know what the temperature is in the tank?
It should be 90 or so on one side… and in the high 70′s on the other.
I also have a under-the-tank heater, but it really does not provide enough heat. I purchased a heat lamp as well and the combonation of the two seems to keep the temperate just right most of the time.
Be careful with the stick on heaters… I noticed that mine was making the surface of the tank way too hot (close to 100). You may need to space it away from the tank just a tad- this will allow air to flow through and won’t make the botton/ side so hot to the touch. I used a couple of small (2″x1″) strips of wood to hold my tank up off of the table and used tape to attach/ adjust the heat pad where I wanted it.

The stick on tank heaters do get hot on the glass but do not provide enough heat for the tank. You should get a heat light too, i recommend using a basking bulb so that along with heat your also giving your ball a day and night cycle. You will hardly ever see a snake drink, most of them do it at night. Once or twice I’ve seen mine drink but usually only when I am filling the dish after the water had evaporated while i was at work.
