Well, its gonna grow, so permanently, a 20 gallon, but for now you could have it in a 10. They shouldn’t have trouble for finding food-you should get frozen pinkie mice for it because live can often carry viruses and disease’s. Newspaper is a great floor-it comes every day and it is in sections so you can remove fecal material easily. It should have a water bowl about 1-2 inches deep and 5 inches in diameter. Half-logs are great hiding places where snakes know they’re safe. You can put synthetic plants in, but not live, unless you no they are non-toxic, which most houseplants that don’t require a lot of UV are. It should have a 50-70 watt reptile basking light and a thin (1/2in) rock that’s about 6 inches in diameter under the light. The light shouldn’t be any closer that 8 inches and shouldnt be too high in wattage, or the tank will over heat. You also need an 18 inch UV bulb fixture with a 2.0-5.0 UV rating. Mine are under a 10.0 bulb, as the snake gets more Ultra-violet, which means better coloration. But they are also more expensive… Hope this helped
At that big you can use a simple 10 gallon cage witch you can buy at any pet store like petco or petsmart even walmart or you can just buy a 20 gallon cage and save yourself the trouble of buying the cage when your milk snake gets bigger
